Undermanned Saratoga Racer's Donovan Williams's Double-Double Not Enough To Secure Victory Against Vermont Coyotoes

Donovan Williams scored 18 points and grabbed 13 rebounds, but Saratoga Racers still fell to Vermont Coyotes, 142-122, on Sunday. Saratoga played the game in front of a packed Vermont Crowd with only 5 players due to illness and inability to travel due to severe storm that hit the Northeast on Sunday. Leading 88-82, Vermont Coyotes went on a 12-point run to pull further away. Williams scored 10 points in the first quarter as Saratoga Racers outscored Vermont Coyotes 29-22. John Ryals III scored 39 points to lead Saratoga Racers. Saratoga Racers had a great day shooting from inside the arc, finishing 36-56 on twos. Williams led the team with 13 rebounds. Also contributing for Saratoga Racers were RJ Rosa (31 points), Williams (18 points), Cam Thomas (18 points), and Luke Perez (16 points). Scott Lampron scored 30 points to lead Vermont Coyotes. Saratoga Racers plays at home on Sunday against the #1 Ranked in the ABA weekly power rankings and undefeated Buffalo Extreme in their next game at 3pm at Joe Loudis Court.

Saratoga Survive Herkimer Originals for Season Sweep

Juwan Malone and Keishaun Wheelings teamed up to lead Saratoga Racers past Herkimer Originals, 116-112, on Sunday at Joe Loudis Court. Wheelings scored 18 points and grabbed 10 rebounds while Malone scored 28 points. This was the Racers 7th straight win to improve to 11-3, including the season 4 game sweep of the Original’s. Trailing 8-7, Saratoga Racers went on an 11-point run to take the lead. Saratoga Racers led 49-47 at halftime. The fourth quarter was the best for Saratoga Racers as they outscored Herkimer originals 42-29. John Ryals III scored 13 points in the quarter. Malone scored 28 points to lead Saratoga Racers. Isaiah Grandison led the team with 13 rebounds. Saratoga Racers passed the ball well with 23 assists on 44 made baskets. Donovan Williams led the team with eight assists. Saratoga Racers's ball pressure forced 21 steals in the game. Williams led the team with six steals. Also contributing with double figures for Saratoga Racers were Wheelings (18 points), Ryals III (17 points), Williams (16 points), Terrell Camp (11 points). Josh Gregory led Herkimer Originals in scoring with 32 points and Rebounding with 22 rebounds. Next up for Saratoga Racers is a game at the Hudson Valley Rivermen (Sullivan County Community College) on Friday at 6:30pm. This will be the first ever match up between the Racers and Rivermen. The Racers return home on February 27th at 7pm when the Rochester Royal Ballers come to Joe Loudis Court.
